Medinah Shrine members having an interest in aviation and being able to pursue those interests in various ways, as a group, formed the Aviators and were chartered in 1967.  The members of the Aviators, many who own their own aircraft have taken on the noble cause of flying children to the many Shrine Hospitals.  These children are both burn and orthopedic patients.  We fly both single and twin engine aircraft.

Our Mission

To provide fast, confidential, efficient and comfortable transportation for the patients of the Shrine Hospitals and their parent or guardian.

Unit Profile

Medinah Aviators'Medinah's Aviators fly Shrine Hospital children and their parent or guardian to several of the Shrine Hospitals.

We also participate in Chicagoland parades with our very unique 1/3 scale Piper Navajo airplane, raising money for the Shrine Hospitals Transportation Fund.

The Aviators participate in several local air shows throughout the year, using our parade vehicle as a static display promoting Medinah Shrine philanthropy and educating the public about our charity functions.
